Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Traffic Engineer Intern to join the transportation team in the Phoenix, Arizona office.
This position is expected to begin in May 2026.
Internships at AECOM offer students in undergraduate and graduate programs the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in engineering, design, and infrastructure projects that make a real-world impact. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
- Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study
Minimum Requirements:
- Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and must have completed at least one year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelor's degree and plan to continue with the master's degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor's degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Assist in the production of all phases of the design process.
- Interested in transportation engineering (traffic analysis, roadway design, traffic design, intelligent transportation systems, transportation planning).
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
- Interested in learning AutoCAD/Civil3D and or MicroStation/OpenRoads.
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
- Relocation assistance is not offered for this role.
- Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
