Description: 
6 hrs./day, 10 month calendar
Special Education Paraprofessional 3 hours/day and Instructional Clerk 3 hours/day
9:00 a.m.- 3:30 p.m.

Qualifications for Special Education Paraprofessional:
  1. High School diploma AND two years of college OR Associate's degree OR MN passing score on the ParaEducator test.
  2. Effective behavior management and health support skills, able to maintain routine in a student's day.
  3. Effective communication and teamwork skills for interactions with staff, students, and parents.
  4. Experience working in a center-based and inclusion setting.
  5. Must be able to perform the essential job functions, which may include toileting, catheters, lifting, medication administration, gastric tube feedings, health tasks to support student, pool, DAPE, ability to work outside.
  6. Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.
Responsibilities for Special Education Paraprofessional?:
  1. Assist in communication with staff, parents, and students.
  2. Assist teacher/nurse in collection and maintaining data.
  3. Ability to implement intervention strategies developed by licensed staff.
  4. Implement behavior intervention plans.
  5. Implement health plans.
  6. Assist with crisis interventions and discipline.
  7. Have knowledge of effective sensory activities.
  8. Instruct individual students following programs designed by lead teacher.
  9. Assist with independent study.
  10. Reinforce lessons with small groups of students.
  11. Ability to work outdoors with students and staff in a variety of weather conditions.
Qualifications for for Instructional Clerk :
  1. High School diploma.
  2. Strong organization skills.
  3. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  4. Ability to work effectively as a team player with staff and parents. 
  5. Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.
Responsibilities for Instructional Clerk:
  1. Prepare classroom materials for teachers.
  2. Playground and/or lunchroom supervision
  3. Other duties as assigned by principal.

Compensation / Benefits for Special Education Paraprofessional: 
RAVE Clerical Association, Wage Group V -  According to contractual agreement. (based on contract)
Step 1 - $21.32/hour
Step 2 - $22.62/hour
Step 3 - $23.91/hour
Employees in the paraprofessional classification, according to contractual agreement, shall receive a $1.00 per hour differential in addition to their hourly base rate.

Compensation / Benefits for Instructional Clerk : 
RAVE Clerical Association – Wage Group VI :  $ $23.40 Hourly (based on contract)
