Position Summary:

The Hospice Clinical Director is responsible for the overall clinical function of the hospice agency as well as the planning, coordinating, managing, and directing of all clinical activities and programs. The Director establishes, implements, and evaluates goals and objectives for hospice services that meet and promote the standards of quality and contribute to the total organization and philosophy.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor's degree. Active RN, physical therapist, speech-language pathologist, occupational therapist, or social worker license in Ohio, with no restrictions. At least 1 year of clinical management experience is required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Directs and monitors overall delivery of quality hospice services within the agency.
  • Provides guidance and counseling to RN Case Managers, Hospice Aides, Social Workers, and Other Disciplines to assist them in continually improving all aspects of hospice services, provided through organization personnel.
  • Oversee and manage clinical teams and planning.
  • Designs and manages agency Quality Assurance and Process Improvement (QAPI) program.
  • Provides help in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient and family/caregiver care to all clinical personnel as indicated.
  • Develop skills and techniques in evaluating the performance of clinicians, Aides, and other direct care personnel.
  • Directs the development of the implementation of the agency's training and development programs.
  • Monitors the maintenance of adequate and appropriate inventory supplies and equipment for the provision of patient services required.
  • Monitors the evaluation of organization performance via performance improvement programs, productivity, and quarterly and annual reviews. Assures the quality and safe delivery of home health services provided through the Organization.
  • Assists in the development of organization goals. Develops, recommends, and administers organization policies and procedures.
  • Stays informed about changes in the field of nursing and home health care and shares information with the appropriate organization personnel.
  • Participates in the development of the administrative and clinical policies and procedures for approval of the Board of Directors.
  • Assists with the selection and maintenance of qualified staff as required.
  • Participates in clinical on-call rotation.
  • Participates in Case Conferences, Ethics, QI Committees.
  • Monitor quality assurance program.
  • Planning, directing, and evaluating operations to ensure the provision of adequate and appropriate care and services.
  • Assumes assigned responsibility for hospice agency operations in absence of the Administrator of home health care.
  • Promotes effective written/verbal communication.
  • Skill in conflict resolution is demonstrated.
  • A Positive work environment is promoted for home health care staff members.
  • Monthly meetings with home health care staff members are conducted and documented.
  • Changes in hospice agency operations and policies and procedures are communicated to home health care agency staff members in a timely manner.
  • Consultation with the Administrator is initiated as issues and concerns require.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90, $98,000.00 per year
