Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to support the daily operations of our bustling restaurant. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food service, and a comprehensive understanding of restaurant management. This role involves overseeing staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting the overall success of the restaurant. The Assistant Restaurant Manager will work closely with the management team to uphold quality standards and foster a positive dining environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily restaurant operations, including supervising staff and ensuring smooth service flow
- Support staff training and development to maintain high standards of food quality and customer service
- Oversee food preparation, handling, and safety procedures in compliance with health regulations
- Manage inventory control, ordering supplies, and monitoring stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate cash handling and sales processing
- Supervise kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure efficient shift management and excellent guest experiences
- Assist with budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting to optimize restaurant profitability
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and sanitation regulations
- Participate in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new team members
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints professionally to maintain high satisfaction levels
- Support catering, banquet, or special event services as needed
Skills
- Proven experience in food service management, including supervising teams in quick service & fast food or casual dining environments
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen management, and food safety protocols
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS; cash handling expertise required
- Excellent leadership abilities with experience in staff training, team management, and development
- Effective communication skills for interviewing, customer service, and staff coordination
- Ability to manage inventory control, budgeting, and cost analysis effectively
- Experience in hospitality management including hotel or banquet settings is a plus
- Culinary experience or fine dining background is advantageous
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle shift management efficiently
- Leadership qualities with a focus on training & development and operational excellence
