Duties

  • Prepare individual, business, and corporate tax returns accurately using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and other financial software tools.
  • Review client financial documents, including income statements, expense reports, and bank statements to gather necessary data for tax filings.
  • Analyze financial concepts and apply tax laws to optimize deductions and credits for clients.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of client accounts to identify discrepancies or areas for potential savings.
  • Assist clients with bookkeeping tasks, including maintaining accurate records of income and expenses throughout the year.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by answering client inquiries promptly and explaining complex tax concepts clearly.
  • Support marketing efforts by engaging with prospective clients and promoting our tax services through various channels.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations by staying updated on current laws and guidelines.
  • Perform data entry tasks such as 10 key typing to input financial information efficiently and accurately.
  • Collaborate with team members in public accounting environments to deliver comprehensive tax solutions.
  • Support the firm's sales initiatives by identifying opportunities for additional services based on client needs.
  • Maintain organized records of all client interactions, filings, and correspondence for audit readiness.

Experience

  • Previous experience in tax preparation or public accounting is highly preferred, demonstrating familiarity with federal and state tax codes.
  • Strong background in accounting principles, financial concepts, and technical accounting practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms is essential.
  • Demonstrated skills in analysis, math, and problem-solving to interpret complex financial data accurately.
  • Experience with bookkeeping tasks and understanding of corporate accounting practices is advantageous.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and professionally.
  • Knowledge of marketing strategies related to financial services can be a plus but is not mandatory.
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines during peak tax season while maintaining high-quality standards.
