Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Junior Sous to join our dynamic culinary team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for food service, kitchen management, and hospitality. The Junior Sous will assist in overseeing daily operations, supporting culinary staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production, restaurant management, and team leadership within fine dining or catering environments.
Duties
- Assist with menu planning, food preparation, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality in cooperation with our Executive Chef.
- Support kitchen management in supervising staff during shifts, including training and mentoring team members.
- Manage inventory control, monitor stock levels, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of ingredients and supplies.
- Oversee food safety standards and sanitation procedures to maintain compliance with health regulations.
- Coordinate catering events, banquets, and special functions, ensuring smooth operations from setup to service.
- Supervise food handling, cooking, and serving processes to uphold high standards of hospitality and customer satisfaction.
- Assist in shift management by organizing workflow and delegating tasks efficiently among team members.
- Maintain detailed records of inventory, food costs, and operational reports as needed.
- Support restaurant or hospitality management in daily administrative tasks related to food service operations.
Experience
- Knowledge of inventory management, food safety protocols, and kitchen operations.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Familiarity with menu planning, catering logistics, and shift management within the food industry.
- Hands-on experience with culinary techniques including cooking, food handling, and presentation.
- Strong understanding of hospitality standards, food service management, and culinary best practices.
