Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Retail Assistant Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the store manager in daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales performance. This position requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and a passion for retail management. As a Retail Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for fostering a positive work environment while managing various aspects of store operations.

Duties

  • Assist in the management of daily store operations, including staffing, inventory control, and merchandising.
  • Supervise and train staff to ensure high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct employee orientation and ongoing training & development sessions to enhance team performance.
  • Oversee inventory management processes, including stock replenishment and inventory audits.
  • Implement effective sales strategies to achieve store goals and maximize profitability.
  • Manage cash handling procedures, including payroll processing and bookkeeping tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales transactions using POS systems and retail math principles.
  • Collaborate with the store manager on budgeting, purchasing decisions, and pricing strategies.
  • Foster a positive team environment through effective communication and leadership practices.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures while promoting a culture of safety.

Experience

  • Proven experience in retail management or as an assistant manager is preferred.
  • Strong background in customer service with demonstrated skills in negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Familiarity with inventory control systems and retail sales processes.
  • Experience with recruiting, interviewing, and employee orientation is highly desirable.
  • Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for enhancing customer interactions.
  • Proficient in administrative tasks including scheduling, time management, and organizational skills.
