We're seeking a detail-oriented Sr Staff Accountant for a client in the medical/healthcare industry to support daily accounting operations and ensure accuracy across general ledger, reconciliations, billing, and reporting functions. This role plays a key part in maintaining strong financial controls, supporting monthly close processes, and contributing to continuous improvement within the accounting department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and post journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end close.
  • Compile, analyze, and reconcile financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts including assets, liabilities, and fixed assets.
  • Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
  • Coordinate and process banking activities, including wire transfers.
  • Support billing and invoicing, including coordination with third-party vendors.
  • Prepare reports summarizing income, expenses, and other key financial metrics.
  • Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Maintain weekly cash flow reports and projections.
  • Support internal and external audit requests with required documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting issues.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as needed.
  • Support system improvements and accounting process efficiencies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with accounting/ERP software (Sage Intacct experience is a plus).
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
