Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in both outpatient and inpatient settings, including a Level II Trauma Center. This position requires a strong understanding of physiology and the ability to work effectively in diverse medical environments such as dermatology, emergency medicine, and geriatrics.

Duties

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
  • Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and medical histories.
  • Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic procedures.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality.
  • Coordinate patient care activities, including scheduling appointments and follow-ups.
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and health maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures.
  • Support the healthcare team in delivering exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of physiology and medical terminology is essential.
  • Experience in an outpatient or inpatient setting preferred.
  • Familiarity with the operations of a Level II Trauma Center is a plus.
  • Previous experience in dermatology or medical-surgical environments is advantageous.
  • Strong skills in emergency medicine practices are desirable.
  • Ability to provide compassionate care to patients of all ages, particularly geriatrics.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent is preferred but not required.
