Responsibilities

  • Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates with precision
  • Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and assisting with basic physiology assessments
  • Support clinical staff with tasks like medication administration, and basic treatments and procedures including Basic Life Support (BLS) techniques
  • Document patient encounters accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems while adhering to medical terminology standards
  • Assist with ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures to facilitate billing and insurance processing (optional)
  • Conduct routine clinical tasks such as specimen collection, wound care, and assisting during minor procedures in outpatient settings.

Experience

  • Prior experience working in medical settings such as hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or outpatient clinics is a plus
  • Knowledge of dermatology, geriatrics, internal medicine, or medical-surgical environments is a plus
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or hospital protocols are beneficial
