Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Afterschool Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and educational environment for children. This role requires a passion for childhood development and the ability to manage various behaviors while fostering positive relationships with both children and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote learning and development.
  • Supervise children during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages social interaction and emotional growth.
  • Manage behavior effectively using appropriate techniques to promote positive behavior.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress, needs, and any concerns.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom and play areas.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive learning experience.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • 2:45pm-6pm Monday-Friday weekly shifts

Experience

Candidates should possess experience working with children in various capacities. Preferred skills include:

  • Experience in behavior management techniques.
  • Background in babysitting or childcare.
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles.
  • Familiarity with first aid practices.
  • Previous experience working with students in educational settings is a plus.
  • Comfortability with diaper changing and feeding amongst 6 weeks-5 year olds
