Principal/Senior AI and Machine Learning Scientist at AI Labs

The Eluvio Content Fabric provides an innovative distributed and decentralized video processing framework with just-in-time and personalized experiences, made possible through our state-of-the-art real-time content routing, just-in-time code execution, and inline frame accurate multi-modal content AI. We are headquartered in Berkeley, CA. 

This position in our AI Labs team offers an opportunity to lead the building of a novel ML/AI models; multi-modal, multi-model search infrastructure; and combined meta AI pipelines for big impact. Innovate new and breakthrough ML, DL and data science solutions in areas such as video and multi-modal identification and analysis, generative content, content processing, scalable routing, search, pricing optimization, advertising, audience analysis, and content recommendation.

Job duties:

• Deliver a novel infrastructure for ML inference, learning, and search on the Content Fabric.
• Create and deliver advanced production-level models using the state-of-the-art in AI/ML deep learning and related research in content AI and oversee integration into production environments.
• Optimize models for performance and ensure seamless integration within the Content Fabric runtime and blockchain-verified metadata systems.
• Develop new IP and provide thought leadership at academic and industry R&D including competitions, publications, and open source.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to interns and junior engineers.
• Take a leadership role in team discussions, setting technical direction, and ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Regularly engage with clients and work closely with the executive and product leadership to maximize product leadership, novelty and customer effectiveness.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science & Engineering/Statistics/Math/Physics (Strong MSc will be considered)
• Minimum of 7 years of working experience as a machine learning engineer.
• Demonstrated ability in PhD/previous positions to build, verify, and deploy novel task-specific models innovating upon the absolute state-of-the-art across the literature and open source
• Deep knowledge of machine/deep learning algorithms (e.g. Transformer/VLM/LLM, CNNs, residual networks, GAN, clustering, sequence models, …) and frameworks/libraries (e.g. Tensorflow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Jax).
• Excellent experience in deployment of machine learning models in production environments, particularly in video/media-focused applications.
• Strong technical expertise in system design and software development. Proficiency in both high-level language (e.g. Python, JavaScript, Bash) and system programming languages (e.g. C/C++/Go/Rust).
• Demonstrated knowledge in API design and implementation for model inference services, ensuring scalable, reliable, and efficient integration of machine learning models into production systems.
• Deep knowledge and experience in statististical data analysis and strong skils in managing and processing large-scale data sets, particulary in media. Knowledge of CockroachDB, Firebase DB, and other stores for large-scale data sets.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams, managing priorities, and delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
