Job Summary:

Trucking Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of trucking and logistics operations. This role ensures efficient fleet management, regulatory compliance, driver supervision, route optimization, cost control, and customer satisfaction. The manager will work closely with drivers, dispatchers, maintenance teams, and clients to ensure smooth daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management

  • Oversee daily trucking operations, including dispatching, routing, and scheduling.

  • Ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods while maintaining high service levels.

  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve operational efficiency.

  • Trucking operations, logistics, or fleet management, especially with endorsement in hazmat and experience handling the hazmat materials (A MUST)

Fleet & Driver Management

  • Manage a team of drivers, ensuring proper scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.

  • Enforce company policies and regulatory compliance, including DOT and FMCSA regulations.

  • Ensure proper vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repairs to maximize uptime and safety.

Financial & Budget Management

  • Monitor operational expenses, fuel costs, and maintenance expenses to optimize cost efficiency.

Customer Relations & Service

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

  • Address and resolve customer complaints or operational challenges in a timely manner.

  • Work with sales and logistics teams to improve service offerings and efficiency.

Technology & Process Improvement

  • Utilize fleet management software, GPS tracking, and route optimization tools to enhance efficiency.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline operations and reduce costs.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging transportation technologies.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or related field (preferred).

  • Proven experience in trucking operations, logistics, or fleet management, especially endorsement in hazmat and experience handling the hazmat materials (A MUST)

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.

  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, safety compliance, and trucking industry standards.

  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in logistics software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Work Environment:

  • This position may require travel to terminals, distribution centers, or client locations.

  • Work may involve long hours, including evenings or weekends, to address operational challenges.
