Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. This role involves operating heavy equipment to load, unload, and move materials efficiently and safely within a fast-paced distribution environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse operations, materials handling, and heavy equipment operation, ensuring smooth shipping and receiving processes. This position offers an opportunity to work with a dynamic team dedicated to safety and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to load and unload goods
  • Pick orders accurately using RF scanners and warehouse management systems
  • Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying shipments and preparing materials for distribution
  • Perform material handling tasks such as stacking, organizing, and transporting products within the warehouse
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safety standards are met in accordance with OSHA regulations
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
  • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to meet daily operational goals
  • Support inventory management activities, including cycle counts and stock replenishment

Skills

  • Proven experience in warehouse distribution, order picking, and shipping & receiving operations
  • Proficiency in operating forklifts, crane equipment, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks
  • Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for order picking and inventory control
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards applicable to warehouse environments
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in accordance with safety protocols
  • Experience with materials handling equipment such as construction-grade machinery or heavy equipment operation is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate order fulfillment
  • Prior warehouse supervisor or leadership experience is beneficial but not required

This role requires a dedicated individual committed to maintaining safety standards while ensuring efficient warehouse operations. Candidates should possess relevant experience in heavy equipment operation and materials handling within a warehouse or distribution setting.
