School-Based Mental Health Counselor - Stuart, FL

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated School-Based Mental Health Counselor to join our team in Stuart, FL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing mental health assessments school-based and therapeutic treatment to students. As a Co-located Therapist, you will interact with clients daily and participate in various aspects of their clinical activities while on school campus. Your primary responsibilities will include providing individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and psychoeducation to students in need of mental health support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions with students
  • Assess and diagnose mental health concerns
  • Develop treatment plans and goals for each client
  • Collaborate with school staff and parents to support student well-being
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed
  • Deliver psychoeducation on mental health topics to students and staff

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
  • Must be a Registered Intern.
  • Non-Licensed or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Florida
  • Experience providing mental health assessments and therapeutic treatment in a school-based setting
  • Ability to provide community-based outpatient group, individual, and family therapy
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to coordinate and provide crisis intervention as needed
  • Experience working with children and adolescents is required
  • 1 year of therapy experience is strongly preferred
  • Ability to pass a Level 2 Background Screening and Education Verification
  • Ability to download and use company applications such as Microsoft Teams and Outlook
  • Moderate Computer Literacy and ability to use Electronic Health Systems
