Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in Oracle Exadata and Oracle Cloud infrastructure and secondary skills in SQL Server administration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the implementation, management, performance, integrity, security, and availability of Oracle databases deployed on both Exadata and Oracle Cloud platforms. This role also involves providing ongoing production and development database support, troubleshooting, automation, and participating in database-related projects..

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Oracle databases (11g/12c/19c) on Exadata and Oracle Cloud (OCI) environments.

Administer and support Oracle Exadata Database Machine - including cell nodes, storage, compute nodes, and InfiniBand network.

Manage Oracle databases in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including Bare Metal, VM DB Systems, and Autonomous DB.

Basic Database administration experience in SQL Server 2012/2016/above versions

Ability to provide technical system solutions, determine overall design direction and provide hardware recommendations for complex technical issues

Drive innovation by constantly reviewing latest public cloud platform database service releases

Perform database capacity planning, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery.

Automate and optimize database management tasks using scripts (Shell, Python, PL/SQL, etc.)

Monitor database performance, address bottlenecks, proactively anticipate and resolve problems.

Implement database security protocols, data masking, encryption, auditing, and manage user privileges.

Assist the support staff to troubleshoot Oracle, SQL and any other database errors.

Ensure all key databases have deep insight monitoring enabled to enable improved capabilities around fault detection

Understanding of database security standards and regulatory compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.)

Work with application teams on database design, queries, and performance optimization.

Manage database migrations, upgrades, and patch applications in production and development environments.

Perform on-call rotations for database production support as required.

Participating in DR (Disaster Recovery)/COB (Continuity of Business) plans

Document all database configurations, processes, and policies.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline; or equivalent professional experience.

Primary Skills: Oracle

Secondary Skill: SQL

8-10 years of experience

10+ years' experience as an Oracle Database Administrator in large-scale production environments.

4+ years' experience as an SQL Database Administator

Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Exadata Database Machine: installation, configuration, patching, internals, and support.

Proficient in managing Oracle databases in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including deployment, migration, and management.

Deep knowledge of Oracle database architecture, ASM, RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, and OEM.

Good understanding of SQL server architecture, SSIS, SSRS, and T-SQL

Experience with database backup strategy design, implementation, and disaster recovery planning.

Extensive production experience in Data Guard management

Experience in database cross platform migration

Experience in Analyzing AWR, ADDM and ASH reports

Solid experience with database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.

Expertise in Unix/Linux operating systems (Oracle Linux preferred), shell scripting, and automation.

Familiarity with Exadata Storage Server, Flash Cache, Hybrid Columnar Compression, and networking.

Working knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) Cloud Control.

Experience with cloud tools (OCI CLI, REST APIs), Oracle Autonomous Database, and migration tools (Data Pump, GoldenGate) is a plus.

Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Ability to work independently and within a team; strong troubleshooting skills.

Be able to manage and support Oracle and SQL Databases in AWS and Azure cloud

Preferred/Desirable

Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Expert (OCE) credentials.

Oracle Exadata Database Certified Implementation Specialist

MCTS, MCITP certifications a plus

Familiarity with cloud automation (Terraform, Ansible) for OCI.

Any Public Cloud Certifications (Azure, AWS, GCP)
