Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to support enhancements of existing application, including new Additive functionality. The ideal candidate will work closely with our development, QA, and integration teams to ensure database reliability, performance, and compliance with market data standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and implementation of new database structures required for Additive Alternate features, including schema updates, new tables, history tables, and materialized views.
  • Review and optimize SQL queries and PL/SQL procedures used by Java/Spring Boot services within application.
  • Ensure database object changes follow established naming conventions, indexing strategies, and performance requirements.
  • Manage updates to Oracle 19c database objects that support Letting workflows such as Proposal Build, Letting Results, and downstream integrations (APCM/SiteManager, ESB).
  • Assist in maintaining and enhancing materialized views and history tables used for snapshotting letting results and alternate group data.
  • Create, validate, and troubleshoot database migration scripts for Dev, Test, UAT, and Production environments.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure API payloads and service logic align with database structures.
  • Perform routine performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning.
  • Support deployments, production validation, and issue triaging during release cycles.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for schema changes, database processes, and data flows.

Required Experience

  • 5–8 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA (Oracle 12c/19c preferred).
  • Strong proficiency with SQL and PL/SQL, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, and tuning.
  • Experience working in environments that rely heavily on materialized views, history/audit tables, and complex relational models.
  • Background supporting Java/Spring Boot applications that interact with Oracle databases.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes, sprint ceremonies, and story-driven development work.
  • Strong understanding of database performance management, indexing strategies, statistics, and execution plans.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working on State or Public Sector transportation systems
  • Familiarity with systems involving letting, bidding, procurement, or project hierarchy management.
  • Experience supporting applications with heavy integration touchpoints across multiple enterprise systems.
