Job Summary And Qualifications
The Research Billing Analyst, under the direction of the Director of Research Compliance, will support the research compliance program, ensuring research billing compliance to further promote a culture of ethics and compliance in the conduct of research at HCA Healthcare. This position is responsible for research billing reconciliation to ensure that research services are billed correctly to the appropriate payers and that Sponsor payments are appropriately invoiced and received.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducts research billing reviews for clinical trials to ensure research billing compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies and procedures
- Collaborates with Billing Integrity, Finance, and Internal Audit on audits and monitoring
- Assists in the department of training materials and helps lead training on research billing compliance
- Acts as a liaison between various stakeholders to contribute to process improvement initiatives to optimize research billing and financial workflows
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree is required
- 3+ years of experience in medical billing/coding is required
- 1+ year(s) of experience in clinical research role (e.g., coordinator, administrator, operations, regulatory, etc.) is preferred
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) is preferred
- Research Certification (ACRP/SOCRA) is preferred
- Comprehensive working knowledge of ICD-10 and HCPCS coding and research billing practices is required
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex billing and financial concepts to non-experts is required
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple workflows and deadlines is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for data analysis and reporting is required
