Job Overview
The Lead Teacher plays a pivotal role in fostering a nurturing and educational environment for children. This position involves leading a classroom, developing lesson plans, and implementing educational activities that align with the school's philosophy. The Lead Teacher will work closely with children, parents, and staff to ensure the highest standards of care and education are met. A strong understanding of childhood development and effective teaching strategies is essential for success in this role.
Duties
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse learning needs of children.
- Lead classroom activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and staff as needed.
- Collaborate with special education professionals to support children with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and early intervention strategies.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding their child's development and well-being.
Skills
- Experience in toddler care and understanding of childhood development stages.
- Ability to teach foundational skills in math and other subjects effectively.
- Familiarity with IEP processes and early intervention techniques for children with special needs.
- Experience working with children in childcare or educational settings.
- Commitment to child welfare and creating a supportive learning environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
