ABOUT THIS ROLE

We are seeking a dedicated and creative Political Research Intern to support our team in researching current political topics and issues. The ideal candidate will be adept at gathering and synthesizing information, producing comprehensive yet digestible memos, and creating resources that incorporate an intersectional approach. Being a stronger researcher and writer is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough research on current political topics and issues, with an emphasis on their impact on marginalized communities.
  • Create well-organized and digestible memos that present findings and analysis through a social justice intersectional lens.
  • Compile and verify supporting links, references, and resources to accompany memos and content.
  • Monitor relevant news and policy developments to ensure content is up-to-date and impactful.
  • Gain valuable experience in script writing for video content, contributing to impactful scripts that convey complex political topics in an engaging and accessible manner.
  • Collaborate with the team to adapt research findings and memos into scripts for educational videos.

Qualifications

  • Research skills and the ability to synthesize complex information into accessible summaries.
  • Familiarity with social justice issues, advocacy work, and intersectional approaches.
  • Proficiency in writing clear, accurate, and compelling content.
  • Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) to create visually appealing content is a plus
  • Passionate about staying informed on current political events and contributing to community education and empowerment.
