Job Overview

The employer is a small bank looking for a detail-oriented, positive, and accountable team member that is willing to stay and show loyalty. The majority of the team members are long time employees.

This position requires understanding banking, trust officer roles, and trust operational concepts. The team member will report to the Trust Officer. Understanding financial concepts and adhering to regulatory standards are necessary.

Duties

  • Perform data entry / daily posting of account transactions (trades, receipts, expenses, distributions, etc.) in trust accounting program.
  • Print and prepare reports for daily cash activities.
  • Produce and review various trust account reports as requested.
  • Gather data and perform account reconciliations daily.
  • Analyze trust account cash balances to ensure sufficient funds are available to meet beneficiary distributions, fiduciary fees, trust bills, etc.
  • Review payments codes and transactions for accuracy.
  • Coordinate opening and closing of accounts.
  • Assist in performing regulatory account reviews.
  • Assist in preparation of quarterly administrative review of trust accounts.
  • Review trust documents and files to ensure accounts are in compliance.
  • Interact with attorneys, accountants, and other colleagues daily.
  • Respond to colleagues regarding the administration and maintenance of accounts.
  • Handle incoming phone calls.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Print and distribute client statements (monthly and quarterly).
  • Other administrative duties.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge

  • Bachelor's Degree or 3 years of experience in Trust Administration.
  • Familiarity with trust accounting systems (FIS / Charlotte).
  • Completion of Trust Certificate and/or CTFA.

Required Qualifications

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrated strategic team player that also has ability to work independently.
  • Proficient with trust accounting and reconciliations.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail is required.
  • Anticipate needs and proactively seek solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • The ability to work on multiple tasks/projects simultaneously is crucial in this position.
  • Must be PC literate.

Base Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
