Status: Part-time, non-benefitted

Schedule: 10-20 hours weekly

General Description: Under supervision of the Recreation Director, performs and assists with youth and adult sports, aquatics, marketing programs including fitness memberships, day passes, and special events. The purpose of the internship is to provide a well-rounded educational work experience in recreation programming and special events. This is a temporary part-time position.

Minimum Requirements:

· High school graduation or equivalent.

· Preference given to those pursuing a degree in Parks and Recreation and/or Sports Management.

Special Requirements:

· Must be 18 or older.

· Must possess a valid Utah Driver License.

· Must be willing to work days, evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

Essential Duties:

· Assists Recreation Director and Coordinators in planning, organizing, developing, scheduling, and evaluating recreation and athletic programs.

· Assists with hiring, training, supervising, scheduling, and evaluating part-time and seasonal personnel; assigns work as necessary.

· Coordinates volunteer requests from the community; recruits, trains and supervises volunteer coaches and staff.

· Provides clerical support and program registrations; answers telephones and maintains correspondence with other divisions or agencies; may respond to public inquiries about the facility.

· May assist in the development of classes, schedules, and implementation of activities and programs; may coordinate with recreation programs for facility usage.

· May coordinate and supervise staff on weeknights, weekends, and some holidays.

· May open and close the operations of the recreation program facility.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.
