Job Description

The Legal Assistant provides a broad range of administrative and legal support, such as prepares/ updates company documentation, investigating facts, maintaining contracts, and other tasks assigned by upper management.

Functions:

  • Prepares legal/non-legal business correspondence covering communications and third-party related matters.
  • Performs administrative duties, such as calendar hearings and deadlines, organizes case files, and maintains legal logistics.
  • Researches and prepares organizational and regulatory filings; maintains and updates the company's and its affiliates' corporate records and minute books.
  • Streamlines, organizes, maintains, and updates documentation in document management databases.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all aspects of performed functions and matters handled.
  • Liaison between the organization and legal counsel.
  • Drafts written correspondence or documentation directed by the Company Executives or the General Counsel.
  • Liaison with the company's and its affiliates' investors.
  • Assists the General Counsel with private securities offerings and records.
  • Maintain an efficient streamline of productivity while handling various business needs.
  • Assists the General Counsel with litigation needs.
  • Completes special projects as requested by the Company Executives or the General Counsel.
  • Occasionally, travel to the Company's facilities and various locations as requested by the Company Executives or the General Counsel.
  • Monitor changes to government guidelines or regulations and submit reports on pertinent changes.
  • Aids in preparing exhibits, pleads, discovery indexes, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
  • Additional duties assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Strong organizational skills, reliability, attention to detail, time management, ability to prioritize, meet tight deadlines and attention to detail
  • Understands technical legal terminology
  • Strong understanding of contract and industry/ labor laws
  • Demonstrated ability to work with senior level executives
  • 2–5 Years of corporate paralegal experience (preferred)
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have the ability to prioritize workload with limited complexity of support
  • Bachelor's Degree and Paralegal certificate is highly preferred
  • Valid CA Class C Driver's License
  • Knowledge and understanding of securities and/or health care laws is a plus

We also offer paid bereavement leave in the event of a close family member passing away.
