Editorial Intern, PeopleJob Description
The ideal PEOPLE intern is resourceful, independent, and can take initiative when necessary. They are a team player with more than a passing familiarity with the lives of famous people, and an interest in current events and social issues. The intern will report on stories for , interviewing subjects and covering events—and fact-check and research stories for the weekly magazine, often under intense deadline pressure. Responsibilities may include:- Writing pre-writes for
- Covering events, like press junkets and red carpets
- Monitoring and transcribing other media for content suggestions, like talk shows, podcasts, etc.
- Helping during live events, like awards shows
- Working on planning documents, like events calendars
- Interviewing celebrities
- Pitching story ideas
- Fact-checking stories for the print issue
- Writing and reporting on stories in the front-of-book sections of the magazine

Pay Range
Hourly: New York: $20.00The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Inc's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
