Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Services Director

The SUD Services Director is a member of the Leadership Team and reports to the Chief Executive Officer. The SUD Services Director is accountable for ensuring smooth and efficient SUD program operations that facilitate the delivery of the highest quality care for our adult and adolescent clients and their families. The SUD Services Director has oversight and accountability of SUD services and functions associated with the agency, including but not limited to, program development and supervision, training and supervision, staff productivity, grant management and reporting, program budget management, and quality assurance. The SUD Services Director also plays an integral role in the agency's engagement and outreach efforts and cultivating program partnerships and collaborations.

The SUD Services Director possesses proven understanding and demonstrated success with evidence-based SUD treatment and services, program development and implementation, staff development, training and supervision, and relationship building. In addition, the SUD Services Director provides administrative assistance and project management, as needed, by the Chief Executive Officer. The SUD Services Director directly supervises the Community Programs Manager, ROSC Coordinator, and Staff Therapists, works cooperatively with members of the Leadership Team, and serves as a contact for external partners. The SUD Services Director carries a caseload of 20% and can be adjusted based on admin duties.

Job Duties

EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP

· Ensure the CEO is kept abreast of all aspects the SUD Services program.

  • In collaboration with the leadership team, play a key role in the overall development, strategic planning, service delivery, operational and financial management of the agency.
  • Assist with regular review and updates to agency-wide and program-specific policies and procedures.
  • Provide administrarive and clinical leadership and guidance to staff to develop and support the provision of services.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with PEER staff.
  • Deliver high-value services that are financially feasible and sustainable.
  • Evaluate the need for additional services, staffing, training and other support to fulfill agency and program needs.
  • Manage employee relations, staff projects, assignments, and responsibilities.
  • Provide performance feedback and support to staff, and complete staff performance appraisals.
  • Deploy resources efficiently and effectively to meet organizational and program goals, working with staff to balance workload and effort.
  • In collaboration with the CEO, identify and develop partner and referral relationships, build and maintain strong working relationships with external partners.
  • Oversee grant funded initiatives, ensuring quality delivery of services, timely and accurate collection, management and reporting of all program and financial data and statistics, including the submission of workplans and other supporting documents as necessary.
  • Represent PEER at the local and national level by attending networking and educational opportunities and promoting the positive reputation of the organization as needed.

· Collect and provide accurate and factual data, statistics and other information to funders, partners, community members, and other stakeholders.

  • Assist the CEO, Director of Finance and Operations, and CFO with program budget development.

· Works on special projects as assigned by CEO.

OUTPATIENT SUD PROGRAM LEADERSHIP

  • Supervise and oversee all aspects of the SUD Services Department.
  • Serve as the primary SUD Services program contact for key community stakeholders, including DHS-DBHR, city departments, schools and agency partners.
  • Lead PEER's SUD work in communities served, maintaining PEER's role as a trusted expert and resource on SUD treatment and recovery.
  • Oversee the SUD Services Program's policies and procedures, and the implementation and evaluation of services as needed, to ensure adherence to industry best-practice, the organization's mission, and/or grant funding guidelines.
  • Communicate the SUD Services Department's philosophy and strategies internally to executive, management, PEER staff, and externally to community organizations and coalitions, providing SUD consultation as needed.
  • Provide leadership and guidance in the development of internal SUD training for PEER staff and external SUD presentations for partners, schools, and community, including specific and catered curriculum as needed.
  • Supervise staff service delivery and record keeping, ensuring all information and materials for accuracy and completeness, providing individual and group supervision as needed.
  • Review and respond to state, funder, partner, schools, and community requests and concerns regarding SUD services.
  • Review and respond to legal concerns or requests pertaining to clinical staff and services (i.e., court orders and subpoenas).
  • Conduct program and staff meetings.

Classification, Compensation, Work Schedule, and Benefits:

· This is a regular, full-time, exempt, 40 hours per week position.

· Compensation is $65K-$82K annually, dependent on experience and qualifications.

· Work hours will be based on the needs of the program and staff availability.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in counseling, social work, family therapy, psychology or related field.
  • Licensed in Illinois as a Clinical Psychologist, LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT.
  • At least 5 years of nonprofit clinical program management experience with oversight responsibilities of an agency's clinical policies and procedures.
  • CADC, CMADC or CSADC Certification
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience managing clinicians at all levels including recent graduates and interns.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Rule 2060.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with billing software, MIS systems and Electronic Health Records.
  • Experience with DHS/DBHR, township and private grants a plus.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with The Joint Commission a plus.
  • Must own a vehicle with insurance and willing to work out of Evanston when needed and other subleased office space(s).
