Field Project Manager

The Field Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of fire alarm, security, access control, and surveillance system projects from start to finish. This role ensures crews are properly scheduled and equipped, materials are prepared in advance, and all phases of the job — from initial walk-throughs to final inspections — are completed to quality standards and within timelines. The Field Project Manager acts as a key point of contact between the company, field teams, contractors, and clients, ensuring smooth coordination and high customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule field crews to ensure job site coverage and efficiency across multiple active projects.
- Ensure all materials, tools, and equipment are pulled and prepared ahead of project start dates.
- Organize and lead pre-job walks, mid-project site checks, and final inspections in collaboration with the client and AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction).
- Monitor work progress and verify quality of installations across job sites; address issues proactively.
- Communicate with crew foremen, field supervisors, and technicians to ensure work is performed safely, correctly, and in line with design intent.
- Track project timelines, milestones, and job costs to help projects remain on budget and on schedule.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff for material handling and deliveries.
- Provide status updates to clients, sales team, and company leadership as needed.
- Ensure all documentation (e.g., permits, inspections, change orders) is complete and organized.
- Participate in project close-out procedures, including customer training and final documentation delivery.
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience in fire alarm, low voltage, or security system installations, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or project coordination role.
- Strong knowledge of fire and security system components, installation processes, and applicable codes (e.g., NFPA, NEC, AHJ requirements).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project tracking software; experience with scheduling tools a plus.
- NICET certification (preferred) or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Frequent walking on job sites, including climbing ladders and accessing mechanical or hard-to-reach areas.
- Ability to perform visual inspections and evaluate physical installations in the field.
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in various construction site conditions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55, $65,000.00 per year
