Cellar Handis a neighborhood restaurant with a deep love for wine, seasonal cooking, and warm hospitality. Located in the heart of San Diego, we focus on thoughtful, ingredient-driven dishes that pair beautifully with our curated wine list. We're looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Line Cook to join our kitchen team full-time and help us deliver memorable dining experiences rooted in quality and care.

As a Line Cook at Cellar Hand, your job includes all culinary activities and will include but not be held to the following duties:

  • Collaborating with the kitchen team to ensure smooth, efficient service.
  • Create and follow daily prep lists and ensure all ingredients are ready for service.
  • Cooking and plating dishes to order with promptness, consistency, quality, and attention to detail.
  • Monitoring inventory and ensuring adequate stock of ingredients and supplies.
  • Help with menu production and work with Executive Chef to train staff on menu items and suggest wine pairings.
  • Monitor quality, quantity and pricing of all products received; make appropriate decisions/modifications when needed.
  • Maintain equipment required for kitchen team to prepare food with Executive Chef.
  • Regulate safe practices of employees.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Managing kitchen waste and supporting sustainability efforts.
  • Ensure optimal level of food quality and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen at all times.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Food and wine knowledge preferred
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, some evenings, and adapt to a flexible schedule
  • This position will involve the ability to lift, carry and/or transport 40 pounds (a case of wine) is necessary
  • Full-time employment

Salary Range: $20 - $23 per hour
