We are seeking a hands-on Controller to own and scale our financial operations as we grow. This role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives in a startup environment, enjoys building systems from the ground up, and wants to grow into a senior finance leadership role over time.
You will oversee day-to-day accounting operations while also partnering with leadership to improve processes, strengthen controls, and provide financial insights that support growth and decision-making.
What You'll Do
Own Core Accounting Operations
- Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end close, including preparation of monthly reconciliations and financial statements
- Maintain clean, audit-ready financial records as the company scales
Build Scalable Processes & Controls
- Design, implement, and continuously improve AR and AP processes to support growth and efficiency
- Establish internal controls and perform internal audits of revenue and expenses
- Identify opportunities to automate or streamline financial workflows
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management in a fast-changing environment
- Monitor spending and perform variance analysis, translating results into actionable insights for leadership
- Partner with teams to improve expense management and financial discipline
Benefits, Payroll & Compliance
- Administer the company's 401(k) plan and coordinate with external providers
- Manage healthcare benefits and serve as the primary point of contact for employees and vendors
- Oversee insurance policies and ensure ongoing compliance as the company grows
- Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations

- Comfortable operating both strategically and tactically — no task is too small
- Excited to build structure and processes where they don't yet exist
- Adaptable, proactive, and able to prioritize in a fast-paced startup environment

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA preferred but not required)
- 10+ years of experience in accounting or finance, ideally in a startup or high-growth environment
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Experience with benefits administration, including healthcare and 401(k) plans
- Familiarity with internal controls and process design
