Role Overview:
As a Senior Specialist in Monitoring & Observability, you will help integrate M&O agents and standards into application patterns, collaborate with Cloud Ops and Cloud Architecture teams, and design enterprise-grade monitoring solutions. You will lead dashboarding, alerting, and incident response workflows using Splunk, OpenTelemetry/ADOT, AWS CloudTrail, CloudWatch, GuardDuty, Wiz, and ServiceNow ITOM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Standardize monitoring practices and policies across applications.
- Design alerts, thresholds, dashboards, and workflows integrated with ServiceNow ITOM and CMDB.
- Onboard teams to OpenTelemetry standards for logging and exporting data to Splunk and other tools.
- Build dashboards for teams to quickly triage alerts and operational issues.
- Collaborate with Cloud Ops and Architecture to embed observability into CI/CD and application patterns.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years in infrastructure engineering with a focus on monitoring and observability.
- Hands-on experience with Splunk, OpenTelemetry/ADOT, AWS CloudTrail, CloudWatch, GuardDuty, Wiz.
- Experience integrating with ServiceNow ITOM and CMDB.
- Strong understanding of logging, metrics, tracing, and SRE principles (SLOs, SLIs, error budgets).
- Cloud-native and container observability experience (AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes).
Preferred / Nice-to-Have:
- Cloud certifications: AWS DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, GCP Cloud DevOps Engineer.
- Experience with AIOps, predictive analytics, chaos engineering, or multi-cloud observability.
