Position Purpose
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Supervisor to oversee the hotel's procurement and inventory processes. This role ensures that all departments are supplied with the materials, products, and equipment necessary to operate efficiently and within budget. The ideal candidate is highly organized, vendor-savvy, and committed to maintaining accuracy and accountability in every transaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and execute daily purchasing operations to support all hotel departments.

  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best quality and pricing.

  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and track deliveries to ensure timely fulfillment.

  • Collaborate with accounting to reconcile invoices and ensure proper documentation.

  • Oversee the receiving process, verifying accuracy and quality of incoming goods.

  • Maintain vendor relationships and ensure compliance with company purchasing policies.

  • Train and mentor team members on procurement and inventory procedures.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in inventory management and purchasing systems (Birchstreet experience preferred).

  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Flexible schedule with availability for occasional weekends or holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in hospitality purchasing, receiving, or inventory control.

  • Familiarity with centralized accounting and procurement systems.

  • Knowledge of sustainability practices in sourcing and inventory management.
