Job Summary:

The Assistant Plant Manager - Fort Worth will support site operations with a focus on Safety, Quality, Deliver, Productivity, and Cost. This role assists the Plant Manager in directing, coordinating, and supervising the day-to-day operations of production personnel, equipment, and material resources. The Assistant Plant Manager helps ensure operations run efficiently and effectively and serves as acting Plant Manager in their absence. Professional behavior and leadership by example are always expected.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support production operations to meet or exceed company goals in terms of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
  • Assist in identifying and communicating continuous improvement opportunities, and lead or participate in improvement actions as assigned.
  • Monitor production of customer orders and help ensure on-time delivery that meets customer expectations.
  • Assist in developing and mentoring personnel to support team growth and succession planning.
  • Support scheduling or resources, equipment, and workflow to maximize efficiency and meet shipping targets.
  • Help manage raw material inventory and coordinate with vendors as needed.
  • Assist in costing efforts by compiling production reports, completing time studies and providing recommendations as necessary.
  • Support the compliant execution of all ISPM-15 processes.
  • Assist in addressing customer quality concerns and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure all safety incidents or concerns are promptly reported and assist in corrective follow-up.
  • Coordinate with maintenance resources, including contractors and parts suppliers, to help maintain safe and reliable operations of equipment.
  • Promote continuous improvement in workforce development, training, housekeeping, and other operational areas.
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Partner with Sales and Engineering to understand customer requirements and ensure they are met through production.
  • Support review of blueprints and collaborate with engineering on product design as needed.

  • Education and/or Experience - A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. Prior experience leading and developing teams is required. Experience with a similar role and responsibility preferred.
  • Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents in English, and communicate those out effectively. Bilingual skills are preferred but not required. Professional communication is required.
  • Mathematical Skills - Ability to utilize basic math skills is required.
  • Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to work in a computer system generating reports and metrics. Knowledge of basic Microsoft Suite required.
  • Reasoning Ability - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
