Hill Gilstrap P.C. is currently seeking an experienced Legal Secretary/Legal Assistant to join the firm. This is a great opportunity for a legal professional to join a well-established litigation firm in Arlington, Texas that has been in operation for over forty-five years.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years litigation assistance experience
  • Prior experience with litigation procedures and e-filing
  • Familiar with State and Federal court procedures and rules
  • Experience with filing briefs (table of contents and table of authorities)
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to integrate into a fast-paced environment
  • Able to prioritize and multitask / organize yourself to be able to concurrently manage several tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Able to prepare legal filings: format documents, pull exhibits, proofread, redact documents
  • Draft and send routine correspondence
  • Preparation of court forms such a notices, motions, and other simple pleadings
  • E-File court filings in both State and Federal Court
  • Document management and organization, ensuring documents are properly saved to document management system
  • Familiar with court rules and filing procedures as well as client guidelines
  • Maintain attorney calendars and ensure all dates/deadlines, conferences, and depositions are calendared
  • Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Retrieve court filings in Federal and State courts
  • Strong oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate with opposing attorneys, court's staff, and clients
  • Ability to assist attorneys with preparation for hearings, depositions and trials

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45, $60,000.00 per year
