The Widman Lab, part of the Digital Oncology Program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), is seeking a highly motivated and creative Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team. Our research focuses on developing the next generation of tumor-naive, ultrasensitive liquid biopsy tools for applications including treatment monitoring, early cancer detection, and minimal residual disease (MRD) detection.
The position offers the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of computational cancer genomics and to contribute to impactful translational research in oncology
Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Widman lab postdoc
- Develop, implement, and optimize bioinformatics pipelines for analysis of liquid biopsy sequencing data.
- Apply AI and data science to detect low-frequency cancer-derived signals in circulating cell-free DNA.
- Analyze large-scale genomic datasets to support the development of tumor-naive circulating tumor DNA detection approaches.
- Integrate multi-modal genomic and clinical data to refine predictive models for early detection and treatment response .
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, computational biologists, and clinicians across MSK.
Key Requirements
- PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Data Science, Cancer Genomics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of liquid biopsy technologies and circulating tumor DNA analysis.
- Experience working with large-scale genomic datasets.
- Familiarity with cancer genomics, MRD detection, or early cancer detection assays
Core Skills
- Strong programming skills in Python, R, and/or other scientific computing languages.
- Experience with NGS data analysis, variant calling, and genomic data interpretation.
- Solid understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning, and data visualization.
