Summary:

  • This position would effectively be an Account Manager working on client accounting instead of internal accounting. Effectively developing into "controller for hire" for a small portfolio of our insurance company clients, effectively "Client Based".

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Prepare quarterly NAIC QS and FS filings
  • Oversee and reconcile general ledger accounts for accurate financial reporting
  • Manage banking operations, including reconciliations and cash management
  • Reconcile and disburse premium escrow accounts accurately and timely
  • Invoice clients for service fees, reimbursable expenses, and other charges
  • Prepare and post accounts receivable accruals
  • Monitor and support accounts payable and receivable activities
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Support audit preparation and liaise with external auditors
  • Liaise with clients and other client providers
  • Oversee general office management and operational support
  • Utilize Workday accounting software for financial operations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (CPA preferred but not required)
  • Minimum 4–8years of progressive accounting experience
  • Proficiency with Workday or similar enterprise accounting software
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP & STAT financial reporting requirements
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis
  • Proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities with precision and organization
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in insurance, risk management, or financial services industry is a plus
