The program helps children develop essential skills such as following directions, taking turns, and asking for help through structured routines and activities. Using the Developmental Repair Model, Kids Thrive focuses on improving children's ability to engage in group settings and share adult attention. Family involvement is central to the care model, incorporating family therapy and coaching sessions to equip parents and caregivers with practical strategies to support their children. Through individualized care and collaboration with families, Kids Thrive prepares children for success in school and everyday life.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role at a school that Kids Thrive is contracted for a Mental Health Therapist located in Dayton, OH. The Mental Health Therapist will be responsible for providing individual and family therapy sessions, addressing client goals, and employing evidence-based interventions to support children's emotional growth. Day-to-day responsibilities include treatment and case planning, conducting mental health assessments, and collaborating closely with families and interdisciplinary teams to promote progress. Additionally, the therapist will provide parental coaching to aid caregivers in managing behaviors effectively.

Qualifications

  • Skills in Treatment Planning and Case Management to support clients' individualized care
  • Background in Mental/Behavioral Health particularly with children
  • Experience in conducting Family Therapy and delivering therapeutic interventions tailored to young children
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field
  • Active licensure (LSW, LPC, LISW or LPCC) in the state of Ohio
  • Experience with early childhood mental health is preferred
