Overview
Gem City Behavioral Health is an alternative education and mental health day treatment program serving children and youth with developmental disabilities, primarily autism. Our programming integrates therapy, emotional regulation, and skill development in a collaborative, trauma-informed environment. We are looking for individuals who bring positive energy, a team-oriented mindset, and a genuine desire to change children's lives through compassion, structure, and creativity. We anticipate growth in service diversity over time, but currently serve a primarily autism-focused population.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Therapeutic Behavioral Support (TBS) and Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment (CPST) services under the supervision of licensed mental health supervisors.
- Assist clients in achieving individualized goals related to communication, regulation, and social functioning.
- Implement evidence-based strategies across multiple day treatment settings to support emotional and behavioral growth.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes an occupational therapist, a speech-language pathologist, a music therapist, and other community specialists.
- Contribute to a healthy team environment built on trauma-informed care, collaboration, and a welcoming clinical culture.
- Document all services accurately and in compliance with Medicaid and agency standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or at least four years of experience working with children with developmental disabilities.
- Strong commitment to individualized care and family partnership.
- Ability to work effectively in structured therapeutic environments.
- Passion for supporting children's growth through creativity, structure, and empathy.
Schedule & Compensation
Full-time, Monday through Friday. Competitive pay based on education and experience.
