Import/Export Senior Analyst

Summary:

Responsible for ensuring compliance with global trade regulations, managing import/export documentation, and optimizing freight operations to minimize costs and improve efficiency. This individual will help organize intercompany freight spend, negotiate with logistics partners, classify products, and develop long-term transportation strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Track freight spend to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), such as on-time delivery, freight costs, and carrier performance.
  • Manage all communications and manage relationships with logistics partners, including FedEx.
  • Identify and track intercompany freight spend and data (work closely with accounting and accounts payable to reconcile data).
  • Serve as the main point of contact for freight-related inquiries, both internally and with external vendors.
  • Execute strategies for shipment consolidation, routing, and scheduling to minimize costs while ensuring timely delivery.
  • Coordinate assignment of ECCN (Export Control Classification Number) and Commodity Codes for all products.
  • Coordinate all international shipments with international customer service representatives and other departments to ensure that products meet Export Administration Regulations and paperwork is correct.

Competencies Sought:

  • Experience with small Parcel international freight and logistics (Europe to United States)
  • understanding of international trade regulations, HTS classification, and INCOTERMS
  • Familiarity with freight analysis and cost optimization strategies.
  • Certifications: Customs Broker License, Certified Import/Export Compliance Professional (CICP) preferred.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
  • 4-6 years of progressive experience in import/export compliance and freight analysis.
