SFE Engineering is looking for a dedicated Building Maintenance Technician to join our team in Flushing. This full-time, on-site position offers an excellent opportunity for entry-level professionals to gain hands-on experience in the architecture and planning industry, ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities.

As a Building Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our buildings, performing routine inspections, and addressing maintenance issues promptly. Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections of buildings and building systems
  • Carry out basic plumbing work, including drilling holes on steam pipes, creating tappings, installing air vents, and replacing steam traps
  • Perform basic concrete and masonry work such as crack repairs, brick replacement, and minor patching
  • Conduct basic inspections and read schematic diagrams and construction drawings
  • Ensure all work complies with safety requirements and applicable building regulations
  • Work collaboratively with team members to complete maintenance and repair projects efficiently
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests when needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of building maintenance practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools is a plus
  • Understanding of safety protocols and regulations
