Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, and maintaining financial records in compliance with GAAP regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in various accounting software systems, as well as Microsoft Suite.

Duties

  • Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice verification/routing, data entry, and payment processing.
  • Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable activities and ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including 1099 filing and general ledger reconciliation.
  • New vendor set up
  • Verification and upkeep of vendor W-9s, COIs, contact information and ACH payment information.
  • Applying for and managing tax exemption status on certain projects.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to address inquiries related to payments or billing issues.
  • Utilize accounting software to manage financial data effectively.
  • Support office staff with various administrative needs such as office supply management, greeting visitors, event planning, phone service etc.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts, including bookkeeping and debits & credits.
  • Knowledge of GAAP principles is essential.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate data entry and account reconciliation.
  • Time is of the essence mindset and excitement towards change/growth.
  • Experience in the construction/service industry is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders regarding financial matters.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
