Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager for our Chicago office. The qualified applicant will have experience in water/wastewater engineering and construction management principles, and will be familiar with the design, construction, and operation of municipal water and/or wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Technical oversight of design staff and team members for projects associated with municipal water / wastewater / drainage infrastructure improvements.
  • Providing specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
  • Participating in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Developing construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
  • Performing quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
  • Preparing technical specification sections.
  • Providing input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
  • Providing guidance and mentoring to entry and mid-level engineers.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Registered Professional Engineer
  • 15+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Previous experience with AutoCAD
  • Strong working knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (e.g., AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Project management experience
  • A strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn, and a desire to work in a dynamic environment
