Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a highly motivated
Senior Software Engineer
to contribute to our National Security and Defense mission. As a Senior Software Engineer with MTSI, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-fidelity, custom modeling and simulation software using agile development methodologies. Your contributions will directly support our mission of enhancing national security and defense capabilities. Leveraging modern technologies and collaborative practices, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the accuracy, reliability, and scalability of cutting-edge simulations for highly sophisticated aerospace and defense systems.

Responsibilities
Your essential job functions will include, but are not limited to:

  • High-Fidelity Modeling & Simulation: Design, implement, and maintain satellite and sensor models for simulation environments.
  • Validation Activities: Assist in verifying the accuracy and reliability of satellite and sensor models to ensure high-fidelity simulations.
  • Modern Application Development: Build and deploy scalable applications using a modern, cloud-based architecture (TypeScript, , Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members for successful integration of models into broader simulation systems.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Programming Expertise: Proficiency in one or more high-level programming languages (e.g., TypeScript, Java, Python, C/C++).
  • Relational Database Knowledge: Experience with PostgreSQL or similar database technologies.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in complex team environments.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, math, statistics, or a related field.

Required Clearance

  • Active Top Secret SCI with CI Poly

Desired Certification

  • Current certification compliant with DoD 8570 IAT Level 3 (CompTIA Security+ preferred).
