Mount Kisco, New York, United States Richmond Community Services Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year

Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for helping others reach their full potential?

Richmond is seeking a Director of Day Programs to oversee our day habilitation services — programs built around empowerment, inclusion, and person-centered care.

If you're ready to guide a talented multidisciplinary team and ensure excellence in every aspect of service delivery, we'd love to meet you

What You'll Do

As the Director of Day Programs, you'll:

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight to Day Program Managers, clinicians, and direct support staff.
  • Supervise a multidisciplinary team ensuring that behavioral supports, nursing, therapies, and community integration are delivered with consistency, compassion, and excellence.
  • Maintain clinical integrity through regular review of Day Habilitation Plans, documentation, and progress tracking.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance, Compliance, and OPWDD to maintain regulatory excellence and readiness.
  • Oversee program operations, including enrollment, transportation logistics, safety protocols, and emergency preparedness.
  • Collaborate with IT, Operations, and clinicians to implement assistive technology and augmentative communication strategies.
  • Manage program budgets, ensure billing compliance, and identify new funding and grant opportunities.
  • Serve as a key liaison with OPWDD and external partners, representing Richmond in statewide forums and professional networks.
  • Lead by example — fostering teamwork, innovation, and a culture that values every person's contributions.
What We're Looking For
  • A mission-driven leader with deep knowledge of OPWDD regulations and best practices in day habilitation and clinical services.
  • Strong supervisory and organizational skills — able to lead diverse teams and manage multiple priorities with ease.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for quality and innovation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Education, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in developmental disability services or a related human services field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing clinical or program operations within an OPWDD-regulated environment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between program sites by vehicle as needed.

If you're ready to take the next step in your career in the developmental disabilities field and help shape the future of our Day Programs, apply today

Your leadership can make all the difference — for our staff, for our programs, and most importantly, for the people we support.
