POSITION PROFILE (Job Summary)

This position is responsible for ensuring accuracy and completeness of the general ledger for 2 business units within Ventura Holdings Group, including balancing, reporting, and maintenance of accounting records; assists in preparation of company financial statements and providing financial support and analysis to management.

Essential Job Responsibilities AND Results

  • Preparing closing journal entries, including accrual & reversing, for monthly financial statements.
  • Reconciling general ledger accounts.
  • Reviewing trial balance and financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
  • Responsible for the recording of cash receipts from the bank systems to the accounting system.
  • Responsible for managing the day-to-day accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash counting team. The team is comprised of three members. , including the accurate processing and review of invoices for payment.
  • Manage and oversee the month-end close processes for 2 entities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Supervise and mentor accounting professionals, including reviewing work and providing ongoing guidance
  • Review general ledger activity, journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies and procedures
  • Assist with year-end audits, including coordinating with external auditors and preparing audit schedules and supporting documentation
  • Ensure accurate reporting of revenue, expenses, accruals, and balance sheet accounts specific to operations

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Experience with accounting systems
  • Must be a team player.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
