Wholesome Goods, Inc. is looking for an empathetic and enthusiastic Director of Human Resources to join our team. Wholesome Goods, Inc. is a fast-growing Global Omni-channel Brand Hub with exciting high-growth brands across home goods, cosmetics, pet care, and more The Director of Human Resources will oversee the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department, which include talent management, benefit administration, payroll, and compliance, while enforcing company policies and practices. Along with these tasks, you will also work closely with the office management team to create and maintain a fun and collaborative company culture and work environment for staff.

The Director of Human Resources will also complete routine tasks required to administer and execute all human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes; performance and performance reviews, talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

This role is a hybrid position with four days on-site at our Clearwater HQ and one remote work day on Wednesdays.

Job Duties:

  • Oversees, manages, and routinely updates company policies & handbooks.
  • Coordinates and manages company benefits administration and renewal, including but not limited to 401k, health, vision, dental, and other benefits.
  • Collects and analyzes employee survey data and other related employee data for improvements and suggestions
  • Handles all workers' compensation, labor, and unemployment claims and issues.
  • Administers full-cycle Payroll operations through Gusto, Deel, & timekeeping systems such as Homebase for all domestic and international employees or contractors.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Facilitates and implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Manages all employee onboarding tasks, including new hire documentation, e-verify, and background checks.
  • Responsible for handling employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Assist supervisors with constructive and timely performance evaluations for associates.
  • Reviews all employee job descriptions, 90-day training plans, and performance reviews with supervisor.
  • Cross-trained in office management to assist when needed.
  • Responsible for monthly reporting and project updates to present during bi-weekly Director's Meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Possess strong project management skills, including software knowledge of Asana.

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Thorough understanding of LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, Upwork, and other relevant job boards.
  • Proficient with Google Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management, psychology, business, or related major preferred but not required.
  • SHRM-CP or SCP Certification
