Partnerships and Fundraising Events Internship

Technical Details:
- Duration: September through November
- Location: Hybrid, In DC office (Metro Center) at least 2 days per week
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship with opportunity to coach for payment.
- You must be able to receive college credit for this internship.
What's This Internship All About? As the Partnerships and Fundraising Events Intern you will be working directly with our talented and knowledgeable team to assist with all aspects of securing corporate partnerships and executing fundraising events. Upon completion of the internship, our interns will have the knowledge necessary to launch their career. Previous interns have gone on to work with fortune 500 companies, large charities, professional sports teams as well as pursued full time roles within Volo.
Responsibilities:
Corporate Partnerships:
- Execute corporate fundraising initiatives and analyze the results
- Research and report on corporate sponsor/partner prospects
- Identify unique opportunities for corporate sponsors/partners to support Volo Kids
- Track and acknowledge donations/support received
Events:
- Work with leadership team to recruit sponsors and participants for events and tournaments
- Contribute to event marketing and logistics efforts, leading to successful event execution and surpassing fundraising goals
- Staff fundraising events in your market
Community Outreach:
- Confidently promote the impact of the Volo Kids Foundation and opportunities to support
- Engage local communities, build relationships with professionals, updating the client information and referral database, and presentations within the community
Qualifications: Skills Needed:
- Technical Skills - Google Drive (Docs, Spreadsheets, Slides), Canva
- Good organizational skills
- Commitment to Non-Profits and our mission
- Ability to work independently
- Good written and verbal communication
- Positive attitude
- Dependable and punctual team player
- Ability to work with the public in a professional manner
- Provide an inside look at the day-to-day operations of a non-profit as well as the strategic decision making inherent in the responsibilities of a Development Director.
- Learning successful fundraising techniques and fundraising event best practices
- Learning about how a non-profit secures funding
- Gain programmatic skills and a deeper level of understanding on nonprofit program work.
- Increase communication skills - written and oral.
