Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential support and care to individuals with varying needs in a home or community setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in home care, assisted living, or memory care, and possess the skills necessary to implement care plans effectively. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by promoting independence and dignity.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
  • Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's specific needs and preferences.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and other health indicators as required.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
  • Assist with mobility and physical activities to promote overall well-being.
  • Observe and report any changes in clients' conditions or behaviors to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Experience

  • Previous experience in home care, assisted living, or memory care is preferred.
  • Knowledge of dementia care practices is highly desirable.
  • Certification in CPR or first aid is a plus.
  • Familiarity with patient observation techniques and vital sign monitoring is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals are essential.
  • A compassionate attitude towards individuals with disabilities or special needs is required.
