Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Bilingual Medical Scheduler to join our healthcare team. You will coordinate patient appointments, manage scheduling workflows, and ensure seamless communication between patients, providers, and administrative staff. Duties

• Schedule patient appointments accurately across multiple EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems.
• Confirm insurance coverage and verify insurance information through systems like Medicare and other third-party payers.
• Review medical documentation for completeness and accuracy to support billing and coding processes.
• Utilize CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding to ensure proper documentation for procedures and diagnoses.
• Manage appointment changes, cancellations, and follow-up scheduling to maintain optimal clinic flow.
• Assist with patient intake processes by collecting necessary medical history and updating electronic health records (EHR).
• Coordinate with medical staff to facilitate care plans, referrals, and diagnostic testing arrangements.
• Handle phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette, providing excellent patient service while managing multi-line phone systems.
• Maintain accurate medical records filing, documentation review, and data entry using Microsoft Office tools and health information management
• Verify insurance benefits and process claims related to Medicare or private insurance plans.
• Support front desk operations by managing appointment reminders, patient check-in/out procedures, and administrative support tasks.
• Uphold HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality during all scheduling activities.
• Contribute to a positive office environment through excellent customer service skills and efficient clerical support.

Skills

• Extensive experience with EMR systems
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards, and medical billing procedures.
• Familiarity with health information management systems
• Ability to verify insurance coverage accurately using Medicare or other third-party payers' portals.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in appointment scheduling and documentation review.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for administrative tasks and data entry.
• Exceptional phone etiquette skills for handling multi-line phone systems professionally.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
• Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly desirable for understanding clinical workflows and patient care coordination.
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards ensures confidentiality at all times during scheduling activities.
• Strong computer skills combined with the ability to adapt quickly to new software platforms or updates in existing systems.
• Experience with medical coding (ICD-10/ICD-9) for accurate documentation supporting billing processes.
