Austin, Texas, United States Spurs Sports & Entertainment Full time

At Spurs Sports & Entertainment (SS&E), we work in service of something bigger than ourselves.

To us it is so much more than just a game or concert.  It takes all the members of our Spurs team to harness the power of sports and entertainment to create moments that excite, memories that endure, and connections that strengthen our community. SS&E owns and operates the San Antonio Spurs (NBA), Austin Spurs (NBA G-League), and the San Antonio FC (USL), and manages day-to-day operations of the Frost Bank Center, Toyota Field and STAR Complex.

We know that our people are our greatest asset as an organization. We aspire to provide our teams with meaningful work, to live our values -Integrity, Success & Caring – day-to-day in what we do and foster an inclusive culture for our 1K+ employee workforce.

Do you thrive on creating experiences that connect people, spark emotion, and build community around a world-class brand? The San Antonio Spurs are looking for an Experiential Marketing Manager to help bring our vision to life across the Austin region and beyond.

As a key member of the Strategic Growth and Marketing team, you'll lead efforts to expand the Spurs' presence in Central and South Texas developing immersive events, influencer collaborations, and community activations that embody the creativity and culture of Austin. From large-scale tentpoles like Spurs Week and the Spurs Austin International Half Marathon to grassroots programs that reach fans where they live, work, and play, you'll shape how the Spurs brand shows up in this vibrant market while contributing to global initiatives in Mexico and France, key markets in our international growth strategy.

Success in this role requires a self-starter with a diverse skill set, someone equally comfortable dreaming big and diving into details, who can pivot seamlessly between strategic planning, creative execution, and on-the-ground problem solving. You're resourceful, proactive, and thrive in fast-moving, cross-functional environments where initiative and versatility drive results.

Based in Austin, TX (with occasional travel to San Antonio), you'll collaborate across Marketing, Partnerships, and Community teams to deliver experiences that deepen fan connection, capture data, and strengthen regional impact. You will also oversee the Spurs Street Team, a dynamic group of brand ambassadors who activate across Austin to drive awareness, engagement, and lead generation. The ideal candidate is a strategic storyteller and hands-on doer, someone who can think globally, execute locally, and bring the spirit of the Spurs to life across cultures and communities.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the strategic planning of the South-Central Texas region - annual events calendar, with the goal of growing the Spurs brand, while actively contributing to the creation and execution of global experiential and marketing strategies, including international events and partner activations, as well as planning and overseeing grassroots influencer marketing collaborations.
  • Design and implement comprehensive data capture strategies across all events and activations, ensuring seamless integration into grassroots and large-scale initiatives. Organize, track, and analyze leads to report associate revenue and brand value, supporting ticket sales, merchandise marketing, and audience growth efforts.
  • Assist in the creation and management of the experiential marketing budget for Austin and global experiential initiatives, in collaboration with leadership and finance, including monitoring expenses monthly for accuracy and appropriateness, completing timely reports to leadership and taking prompt and corrective action when required.
  • Oversee management of offsite storage(s) and company vehicle(s), including inventory of giveaway items, photo ops and event props, while keeping track of various department requests.
  • Work collaboratively with key internal departments including Marketing/Brand, Partnerships, Impact, Digital, Content, Creative, and Analytics on a consistent basis on Austin key initiative and growth strategies, as well as global and international efforts that align with the Spurs' broader brand expansion to implement and recap strategy tactics, and external stakeholders to maximize each events' experience and ensure seamless data ingestion for later use.
  • Oversee, train and hire event marketing team(s), to include potential part-time in-office representative(s), and Street Team staff located in Austin, ensuring consistent brand presence at experiential marketing & grassroot opportunities that align with both regional and global activations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Who You Are:

  • Four-year degree, preferably in Marketing or Communications or a related field of study.
  • 3-4 years' experience in a Marketing or Events role, or related field.
  • 3-4 years' experience planning events or supporting the planning of events is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite to include Excel, Power Point and other computer skills required.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, proactively problem solve and be highly organized.
  • Availability to work long, flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays supporting grassroots and community events.
  • Possess a clean driving record in order to operate company-owned vehicles.
  • Bilingual skills strongly valued (Spanish or French preferred): experience working across diverse or international markets a plus.

In every position, each employee is expected to: demonstrate alignment with SS&E's core values and mission, collaborate with internal/external community members and demonstrate ongoing development.

If you don't have experience in every single bullet above, no sweat – we still want to hear from you and encourage you to apply
