We are seeking a hands-on
2nd Shift Maintenance Supervisor
to join our team at a leading food manufacturing facility in
Atlanta, GA
. This is a
direct hire, onsite
role responsible for supervising maintenance personnel and ensuring effective, efficient, and safe maintenance operations to support production goals. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cold environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate preventive, emergency, and utility maintenance tasks on the 2nd shift.
  • Partner with engineering and plant leadership to enhance safety, equipment reliability, and production quality.
  • Manage both daily maintenance activities and capital projects.
  • Leverage mechanical/electrical knowledge to maintain production systems, utilities, buildings, and grounds.
  • Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for scheduling and tracking preventive maintenance.
  • Drive corrective actions based on maintenance KPIs to improve equipment uptime and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, company policies, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Promote and share best practices across the maintenance team.
  • Oversee employee performance, development, discipline, and engagement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

  • Cold environment (34–36°F)
  • Requires frequent walking, bending, lifting (up to 50–75 lbs), and working around machinery and wet floors.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, boots, and smocks is mandatory.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in plant maintenance (food manufacturing required).
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and PLC troubleshooting
    highly preferred

  • Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems and Smartsheet software.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage change, prioritize multiple tasks, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Experience enforcing safety, sanitation, and quality control policies.
