We operate two dedicated fabrication shops—one for heavy structural steel, stairs, and handrails, and another for smaller-scale handrail production—as well as an in-house paint shop for finishing, jobsite staging, and logistics. Position Overview:

The Production Manager plays a pivotal, cross-functional role in supporting production flow and job tracking across all fabrication, paint, and logistics operations. While this position does not directly oversee shop personnel, it is responsible for ensuring alignment between fabrication schedules, project deadlines, purchasing, detailing, and logistics. The Production Manager will work closely with shop supervisors, project managers, and senior leadership to coordinate resources, solve bottlenecks, and keep production moving efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

· Act as the operational liaison between the Vice President of Operations, shop supervisors, project managers, and internal departments.

· Coordinate and track production schedules across the large structural shop, the handrail shop, and the paint/logistics operation.

· Facilitate daily or weekly check-ins with the Shop Foreman, Handrail Shop Supervisor, and Paint & Logistics Supervisor to review job statuses and prioritize work.

· Monitor progress of fabrication and paint jobs to ensure alignment with project delivery timelines.

· Identify and communicate production issues or delays, and assist in developing solutions to keep projects on track.

· Work closely with Purchasing to ensure materials are ordered and delivered in sync with production needs.

· Collaborate with the Detailing/Drafting team to ensure drawings are issued on time and clarifications are resolved promptly.

· Track key production metrics, report variances, and help drive continuous improvement efforts across all departments.

· Ensure all records and production data is collected for audits and management review

Qualifications:

· 5+ years of experience in a production coordination or management role within steel fabrication, construction, or industrial manufacturing.

· Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage priorities across multiple teams and departments.

· Proven experience in production tracking, scheduling, and project coordination.

· Ability to interpret shop drawings, fabrication blueprints, and delivery schedules.

· Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and familiar with production tracking systems or ERP tools.

· Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence without direct authority.

· High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications or associate/bachelor's degree can be a plus.

Working Environment:

Office-based with regular walkthroughs and coordination in the fabrication and paint/logistics shops.

Some work may take place in non-climate-controlled shop environments.

Requires communication across various stakeholders including shop staff, engineers, and leadership.
